Corporate Social Responsibility

Green World with Korea LPG Association is actively seeking to implement the energy welfare projects by creating the “LPG Hope Charge Fund” to provide support for the energy-underprivileged along with the LPG industry, government and various agencies.

Through the LPG Hope Charge Fund, we have conducted a variety of welfare projects such as the LPG pipe support project, the scholarship program for taxi drivers’ children, the LPG hope truck support project, and the energy welfare project for low-income families. The LPG Hope Charge Fund helped 70,000 underprivileged households, 1,500 small business owners, and 3,000 taxi drivers.

Support for LPG Pipeline Network Project

The LPG pipeline network project builds small LPG storage tanks in energy-vulnerable areas where city gas is not supplied, and connects each household through underground pipelines to supply LPG. As LPG is supplied in a large quantity, the distribution stages are reduced to cut fuel costs and supply fuel in a stable manner. Furthermore, a meter is installed in each household to enable real-time verification of the usage, adding other strength to the project. In partnership with the Ministry of Industry, the LPG industry covered the amount of costs borne by the beneficiaries of national basic livelihood and the near-poverty groups to install small storage tanks for households within the LPG pipeline network.

Energy Welfare Project for Low-Income Families

The Energy Welfare Project for Low-Income Families provides LPG vouchers to help low-income families with increased burden of fuel cost to get through the winter in a warm environment. Heating and cooking LPG fuel costs have been provided to over 2,000 households, comprised of beneficiaries of national basic livelihood and near-poverty groups nationwide, while 62,000 households have received some form of support over three years since 2012.

Scholarship Program for Taxi Drivers’ Children

We provide higher education scholarships for taxi drivers’ children in order to enhance the welfare of the taxi industry. Since 2012, we have been giving KRW 4 million each to 250 college students whose parents were engaged in the taxi industry. The LPG Hope Charge Fund gave the total scholarships of KRW 10 billion to 3,000 students.

LPG Hope Truck Support Project

The LPG Hope Truck Support Project provides 4 million KRW for early scrapping of aged diesel vehicles to be replaced by LPG trucks in order to reduce particulate matters in the urban area and enhance the welfare of small business owners. Through this project, the Association contributes towards relieving the burden of small business owners and low income families, and the reduction of particulate matters by providing support for the replacement of aged vehicles with LPG motor cars.

LPG Truck Subsidies for Small Business Owners

We gave an additional KRW 1 million as LPG truck subsidies for small business owners who applied for the LPG truck purchase support program of the Ministry of Environment in order to reduce the burden on small business owners and promote eco-friendly trucks.
